Default New!

Hey all, i'm new to the forums. Came here seeking help to some issues i've been having with FSX (which im also new too!)

I've started playing this game for the first time after seeing my partner play it and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I've got the handle (for the most part) of taking off and landing but when I'm in free flight mode (I use FS Passengers X to add some purpose to the free flying) I find it really difficult to hit the correct headings after taking off.

For example, flying from Cardiff to Birmingham i'm asked to ascend to 5000 feet with a bearing of 005. Not only does my little Cessna really not want to fly that high I struggle to keep an eye on the heading/speed/etc while climbing/steering. Does anyone know of an easier way to deal with this?

Is there a way to get a small overlay for the screen that displays current bearing, speed and altitude? Or possibly a way of getting the waypoints that're used in Mission mode to show up in Free Flight so I can atleast get a rough idea of where to point my plane.
